Jeff and I did the Plyometrics disc on Tuesday- basically an hour of jumping up and down, side to side, on one leg and then the other... needless to say, my quads and calves are still sore almost two entire days later! Yesterday (Wednesday) was the arms and shoulders disc.
This morning, after three days of intense work outs and few carbohydrates, it was definitely difficult to get out of bed. Jeff set his alarm for 8:15 a.m. and was up and ready to roll.. I, however, had to fight every nerve and muscle in my body to sit upright. Luckly, Jeff continued to poke and tickle me until I jumped out of bed. Today was yoga and the stretching really helped our sore muscles.
The hardest part about day four is the cravings. While the food is really delicious, I find myself day dreaming about bean and cheese burritos from our favorite mexican food restaurant "The Taco Shop." When Jeff was at work tonight, I found myself wandering into the kitchen looking for anything to tide me over. I knew that I wasn't hungry, but I wanted to eat so badly. First, I grabbed some plain nonfat yogurt. I cut up strawberries and chowed down on the mixture. An hour later I was back in the fridge and this time I found cottage cheese. After wolfing down that, I opened up a can of garbanzo beans. It was as though I couldn't find anything to satisfy me. Hopefully these cravings will subside. I feel like I am cheating. I wanted to be so strict with the diet and now I am eating many more servings of fruit and dairy than I should be.
I hope that this is a natural part of the P90X process. I am so excited for this program, but thinking about how delicious the foods were that I could eat before this program makes me wish there was a way that I could eat what I want and still have the body that I want too.
Hopefully the next couple of days will leave me a little less discouraged.
